This Support Scheme is specially designed to bring permanent relief to abused women through practicable skills development and empowerment. This is geared towards diminishing poverty and restores self-dignity in victims of abuse as researches have shown that most abuse cases are traced to poverty caused by unemployment and loss of self-esteem.
This programme identifies unemployed/unskilled abused women and enrolls them in skills acquisition centres within their communities. Such women are trained in handiwork/crafts that could make them self-reliance within a short time. Such handiwork include hairdressing, tailoring, catering, event decoration, laundry/dry-cleaning, graphic design, gardening, farming, livestock, small scale business management etc. Soft loan will be provided for those that are trained to buy the required equipment to start their own business.
